The seventh edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup will be held from September 12 to 17 in the cities of Nagoya and Osaka in Japan.
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup features a total of six teams per gender with the host nation, Japan, and four continental champions from Asia, Europe, NORCECA and South America, and one wild card entry granted by the FIVB.
The Round Robin system is used for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup.
World No. 1 Brazil, which are the defending champions for both events of the World Grand Champions Cup, have participated in every edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup since its inception in 1993, when they finished second to Italy, and are the most successful nation going on to win the quadrennial tournament in 1997, 2005, 2009 and 2013, with another silver medal to their name in 2001. Italy and Cuba (2001) are the only other two countries to win the event.
